About Abiriya Martin

Abiriya
Martin was born on the 3rd day of November, 1960 to Anaba Abiriya and
Abugerema Gbe-erezongo in a small city called Dachio near Bolgatanga the
capital city of Upper East Region of Ghana.
Abiriya attended Dachio
Primary School from 1966-1971. He proceeded to Bongo Beo Middle School
where he completed in 1975. Martin got admission to Bawku Secondary
School in 1976 and pursued Agric. Science Programme. The subject he
offered while in Bawku Secondary include;

- Mathematics
- Agric. Science
- Economics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Art
- Geography
After Bawku Secondary School, he did private studies and wrote other subjects of the November-December Exams conducted by West African Examination Council. These include;
- Bible Knowledge
- Government
- General Science
Teaching
Martin
started working as a pupil teacher in 1983 at Dachio Primary School.
After having taught for four years decided to go to St. John Bosco
Training College to be trained as a professional teacher. Mr. Abiriya
completed successfully and joined the teaching service as a professional
teacher in 1990 at Dachio Junior Secondary School(JSS) now called
Dachio Junior High School (JHS).
University Education, Winneba.
Mr. Abiriya proceeded to the University of Education and pursued Diploma in Ghanaian language in 2001 and B.Ed Degree in the same course in 2002.
Back to teaching
Martin after Diploma Education, was posted to Dachio JHS in 2001. After B.Ed degree, Martin went on transfer to Gbewaa College of Education to teach Gurene. While teaching Mr. Abiriya Martin was learning Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on his own. Through his initiative, Martin became tutor and examiner in ICT in the college and Cape Coast University respectively. Martin decided to upgrade his knowledge again. This time he went to Cape Coast University and did his masters in Human Resource Development. Martin is still teaching Gurene and ICT at Gbewaa College of Education.
